Welcome to the Waikato Waste Exchange! The Exchange is a unique service that helps businesses connect their unwanted materials and recyclables with new owners through a free online exchange.
The Waste Exchange is now being managed more locally with support from your regional and district councils.
If you are new to the exchange, we recommend using the following steps:
STEP 1: If you have something you would like recycled, checkout your district or regional RECYCLING DIRECTORY

STEP 2: If you are a householder or community group looking for free stuff or wanting to donate stuff for free, we recommend visiting the following websites:

STEP 3: Register as a member of the Waste Exchange if you have material you would like to divert from landfill or if you are looking for material and resources for your business. Registration is easy and free register or login here . Once registered, you will be able to email directly your interest in any of the resources on the site.

Carbon $ave is a programme sponsored by the Ministry for the Environment designed to help businesses use resources more efficiently, with specialist assistance at a fraction of the normal cost.
Carbon $ave:
- is a tailored programme for people who manage the operations of medium sized businesses (10 - 50 employees) in the Waikato region.
- provides the tools, expertise and support to reduce waste, energy and fuel usage in your business and save on costs
- is priced on a sliding scale between $150 to $400 with the final price dependent on your business size. For this contribution you will receive between 5-12 hours of a consultant’s time (again dependent on business size) plus follow up project and implementation support from Sustainabiz’s sustainable business advisor.
